Production Update: Nighttime After

Screen Shot 2017-04-21 at 1.45.52 PM

After finishing the difficult parts, I want the ending to be more simplistic and beautiful, as discussed earlier in my design. These ending parts are more focused on the message that I am trying to convey, being that the message is one of the most crucial parts of the animation. So this is more scenic, and the work that I have produced this week.

Production Update: Animation and Silhouettes Part 2

Along with the daytime shot this shot is one of the more difficult. This one has even more silhouettes then the daytime because it is at night and I feel like nighttime can be very hectic as well depending on what part of the city that you are in. This one was a lot of timing issues as well but once you get them in the piece starts to really come together with the image it is producing.

Production Update: Animation and Silouettes

Screen Shot 2017-04-21 at 1.44.48 PM

This is among the longer and more tedious part of my project. This is because it has the most stuff in it, being the silhouettes. It can be tricky and tedious with the timing however it is part of the animation that really sets the tone of the animation off so it is crucial. I expect this part will take the most time however once I get through it getting the rest of my animation done should be easy. I had scheduled extra time in with my Gann’t chart to make sure I had enough time to get this done and on time.

Production update: Walk Cycle

This is the walk cycle I will be using throughout my piece. This is a representation for my dog. He is disformed, and you can see in previous posts that this was the original design that I came up with only animated now. I plan on having him walking throughout the piece but not being the main focus.

The hump on his back serves to add to the unwanted look he has and also adds to a possible story that the dog could represent as well.

Production Update: Cycle

Above is the walk Cycle that I have completed for this week.

It is unlike my previous walk cycle, where my dog is actually walking. This walk cycle will be used later towards the end of my piece, laying down next to a bench.

Unlike the first as well I plan on speeding up this frame rate, because at this time the music will be so intense because it will be the end of the piece. I want this to match the height of the music also giving that more intense feeling to the viewer.

Gannet Chart Checkin/Presentation

Through some issues over the past few days with my computer I have not been able to resume working on my senior project. However, I am not behind. Currently I am supposed to be working on animating the walk cycle for my dog. I have not been able to do so because of issues with m computer and when I went and turned it in I cannot work in 302 because that program is not installed on the computers and will not let me download it. So I have been focusing my attention on other tasks that I could do seeing as I could not work on what i had planned.

I have gotten the first shot of the city done, which took me a while to get the certain effect and realism that I wanted in the clouds. As well as that even though I cannot upload it because I don’t have the program on the computer to render it, I do have some of the walk cycle done. Just not all of it.

Up to date I have done

-all pre production and layout, which includes background, car, silhouettes, sketches

-Some of the dogs walk cycle, even though I cannot upload it to show you

-Opening shot of City —>      https://vimeo.com/206411143

In shot 1 you will notice that some of the clouds suddenly cut off. I did this purposely. I left space in the end of the video because I want to use a transition, so I need extra video to work with. I plan on fading it into the next shot. Along with that, I plan on using a statistic in every transitional shot in one way or another to get my message across about animal abuse.

I cannot upload all siouettes but here are some.

Vehicle Silhouettes. Note, I have not combined these with the backgrounds yet. I will be changing the colors them to make them look like different vehicles. But thats simple to change them once I start to fully animate the background.

You will see my background images in previous posts as well as my dog of what his walk cycle will look like. It also accounts for sketching him in the final stages. I do have more sketches on paper but have not scanned them in.

Background assets checkin

I have met my goal of completing my background assets through the first four weeks. I have also completed the silhouettes of my people. Seeing also are the silhouettes I created for the trees, bench, and lights.

Seeing this you can also see the color scheme. The colors are dark and droopy, giving the viewer a depressing feeling when they look at it. My dog will be all white, which will draw the viewers eye to it, but also noticing the design of the background as well.
