c. Design a logo: experiment with repeating lines, create motion using sequence and progression. vary the line weight, creating contrast. Describe the speed and how the eye will move around the design. Did your line quality engage the viewer emotionally?
There is clearly contrast in this piece of work. You can see the dynamic composition used in the curved lines and circles. The main focal point of the design is the circle in the center, which is a pearl. The specks in the background give the design more depth and detail, while also complementing the pearl in the center.
Macnab Design’s work has greatly influenced mine. Macnab’s work is very simple, once making a logo design for the local veterinarian hospital. Her work was the same as mine in the aspect that we both use simple shapes and designs. My work mainly consisted of circles, line thickness, and contrast, while her work is more straightforward.
In both Macnab’s work and mine, simple shapes are being used. Circles are constantly being used, along with the particles in my work, helping give more contrast and increase the noise in my design. I used the same idea as Macnab, keeping my logo simple, and not overworking the design. Although, it’s not sending a powerful message like Macnab’s work.
